| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Lot had a lot of cars when we returned but there was still room for a few more. |

| Water Crossing Notes: |
Step overs for small drainages. I used the downed tree to cross the Wonalancet while Pepper waded. |

| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Trails are generally in very good condition; waterbars really well cleaned; the trails are just obviously well cared for. WODC just does a great job. Even the upper Walden was doing well. The Gordon Path can be confusing to follow where it comes out in a yard/field near 113, or vice versa. I followed some bent grass from a vehicle's wheels to get to the driveway bridge where there is a sign. I also found Kelley a bit uncertain where it comes out on a grassy road still down low. There is a sign to go right (going up, although the road actually descends a bit) and one blue blaze close to it, and then nothing until you get to where the trail enters the woods on the left. If you read the WMG ahead of time it is no problem, but if you read it after you've hiked then you might wonder during it if you missed something. |

| Dog-Related Notes: |
Pretty easy day for Pepper. He had lots of sip n dips down low, the clouds kept temps mild, even cool, and we ran into only a few people all but one of those near the summit. The upper Walden and Dicey's Mill on the "cone" had no water, so bring some on a warm and/or sunny day. |

| Bugs: |
Nothing much. |
|
| Lost and Found: |
Someone had draped a blue Outward Hound dog pack on a pole in the parking area. |

I didn't see any trail reports for Gordon, Kelley or Walden this year so I'll put this one in. The Gordon Path is a lovely woods walk for most of its length. It looks like locals use it for walks. The Kelley trail is an odd mix of wide haul road, trail and dry cascades. Walden is a wonderful mix of steep ledgey ups, separated by some flats with nice footbeds and a few descents. Peak bagging isn't favored by its use, but it is well cared for, has a few views, is fun (at least when it isn't icy) and it provides solitude. Once again the end of the week forecasts for the weekend were wrong, but the cooler cloudy day made hiking easy for dog and man, and the sun came out some at the end to put a nice touch to the whole hike. Thanks Pepper for another fun day on the trails. |
