Comments
Comments: Took the various logging roads/snowmobile roads described in zporterColdWaterCampCook's report from early July. All gates are open. We were told (not verified officially) that the gates are closed from the end of snowmobile season until the end of mud season. Late summer should usually find them open. Magalloway road is in good shape. Closer to Stub the roads were not as good but should be passable (WITH CAUTION) by most cars. Our Forester had no issues. From the HOL we found and followed the well defined herd path to Stub Hill Pond. From there the options to follow a herd path to the peak are many. All appear to get you to the top. Not as quick as Dixville, but pretty quick trip nonetheless for a "bushwhack". #99 of NHHH for Karen and I.
