Comments
Comments: This was an epic day to be alive. We red-lined a bunch of stuff while cleaning up Kali's grid some for August. Two peaks to go for the month. There was lots of rock scrambles heading up the Madison Gulf Trail, with running water to boot. Buttress was the butt of jokes all day and had some steep downs for us with lots of rock negotiating (big rocks!) and even a rock field (star on map) before connecting to Six Husbands. What amazing perspective of the Northern Presidentials. These images will be burned into my mind for a long time to come. Up Wamsutta had some rock scrambles and then breaks treeline a bit before the auto road crossing. Not my favorite part of the day as I was wearing down. Across the Alpine Garden, I was delighted to see purple, yellow and white flowers. I figured the season had passed. This was my second time across but first with views. Monroe is amazing from this vantage point. Once we made it to Lion Head the decision was made to end this redlining expedition and retreat while we still had our sense of humors in tact. Thank you Dan, for an epic day, the hikes just keep getting better! And Kali for impressive teamwork with Mom, it is nice to know we still got it!
