This was an AMC trip, Doug Hunt leader. He provided a beautiful day...warm with a nice breeze along the trail though the wind was howling overhead..., a Summit protected from the wind for lunch, a proper amount of encouragement and humor, and a strong arm to get us across a raging brook.
Plenty of snow above 3500ft ... 4 ft + . Monorail was stable in the morning but less so later in the afternoon. Microspikes were most helpful. We carried snowshoes but did not use them. Trees over/under/in/alongside made for slow going at times. |
