Comments
Comments: Used the Discovery trail to bring us nearer to the logging roads that circle west and north toward the ridge that leads to the South Hitchcock summit. After crossing a small stream we pretty much set course and pushed through to the ridge. On the ridge there were several herd paths provided by moose toward the summit. From South we followed the ridge between it and Middle Hitchcock, down then up to the east shoulder of Middle and again picked up some herd paths pushing through thick brush to the small clearing of Middle. Pretty much retraced our steps back to the brook crossing where it became decidedly easy returning to the parking lot. The Hitchcocks proved to live up to their reputation of being really nasty, I now have an ample supply of pine needles for my Christmas scented pillows. Thanks to Karen and Sandy Price and Peter Crane for 'enjoying' this day with me.
