Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: No issues today - water levels on these trails were the lowest I've seen in 11 years of doing trail maintenance.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trail maintenance day on the Webster Cliff trail - everything there is in good shape with the exception of a good-sized blowdown halfway between the peaks that will probably need a chainsaw to clear, but for now it's an easy step-over. All sections of the Webster-Jackson trail could benefit from the water bars being cleaned (and some new ones being installed in the chronically muddy eroded areas). The Jackson branch is still on my list of least-liked trails, but it is a bit better after the work the AMC trail crew did this summer - much thanks for your hard work!
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Hannah had an easy day "supervising" - no issues with the terrain or weather. This loop normally has a fair amount of mud and small streams but everything was much drier than normal, so I was glad I had her carry her bag with some extra water.
Bugs
Bugs: A few buzzing on Jackson but nothing biting

Comments
Comments: Weather ended up being better than forecasted, sunnier and warmer than the "summits obscured" forecast. Trails were mostly dry and even some of the chronic mud pits barely had any mud. We were treated to a beautiful partial undercast on Webster and had a good amount of blue sky and sun the rest of the day. Color is approaching peak in the area - reds and oranges really starting to pop. The forecast must have scared some people away because we didn't see a soul all day and had the Jackson summit to ourselves for almost 40 minutes. Great day for trail maintenance with the beast!
