It is amazing to me that such a fantastic viewpoint at such a popular tourist location within a relatively short hiking distance should be without a trail. But it is. To get here you have to bushwhack up the last quarter mile or so through thick evergreens and some steep slopes. On top, though, is a wide-open ledge view of the entire Franconia Notch, not visible from any trailed peak. The link below is a large-size six-photo panorama of this great 180-degree view. |
