This hike brought us to Northwest Hancock (Hancock Spur), Lincoln/Livermore NH, #89 on the list of 93 fire towers that are standing, once stood or were proposed. We took the Hancock Notch Trail to the Cedar Brook Trail, then bushwhacked the rest of the way to the summit. This was not one of our favorite bushwhacks, but we did make it to the summit and found the artifacts from the fire tower.
Cedar Brook trail was very muddy in spots, especially after reaching the Pemigewasset Wilderness. The bushwhack brought us through very dry dead trees and mossy ground that we kept falling through. Other areas were fortified by walls of pines, that we had to work our way through. This was not one of the better bushwhacks we have done. We are glad it is off the to-do list. :)
We did post a video on YouTube for anyone interested in seeing the hike...
