Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: None. Worth noting that the rivers in this area are the lowest I have seen them in 25 years. Very dry.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: n/a
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Fine for dogs. Large ladder staircase at top. My old dog used to always get disoriented coming down it for some reason.
Bugs
Bugs: Several hatches in small clouds here and there. Interesting pure white gnat-looking swarms at base/parking area that looked like falling snow flakes. Never seen this type of bug before. Had a tick behind my ear when I returned to car (not attached yet).
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: n/a

Comments
Comments: Trail pretty dry overall with dry leaves covering in most areas. Some small wet muddy areas in lower section that were all easily negotiated. Had planned a sunset hike to Mt Franklin but the cloudy weather came in much sooner than forecast and with the ceiling at 5000' and falling when I got up there around 2PM I decided to scrap it and go for some easy views on one of my favorite mini-hikes. Can't beat the views on Middle Sugarloaf for such a modest effort.
