| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Not much parking. 3 cars and then to the road.
The road is in rough shape, but my Elantra drove the entire road.
A sign suggests that the forest service does not want us to use the old Gleason route. However, it is not prohibited. I did it for something new (I had walked Bennett before) and to cut a little distance.

|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
There are some major blowdowns on the upper part of Algonquin. Herd paths are forming around the harder to pass BDs. The Guinea pond spur has no sign. There is a sign post and a "no snowmobile sign" at the start. The spur is easy to follow.

| Comments: |
Algonquin is a great trail. Lots of nice views on the way. Great views to Sachem and the ridge between Welch Dickey and Tecumseh. No views form the summit due to clouds. This is a pretty long hike. Very scenic route.
The 1.7 mi section of the Gleason trail I used is decommissioned. It still has blazes and is easy to follow. There is some blowdown, which should not be moved.
On the Guinea pond tr. there is a presumed relo that is marked with a small cairn and and ribbon. If you hit major flooding turn around, the dry route is not far behind |
