Comments
Comments: I had been wanting to do this traverse for a long time. We headed up blueberry from the south, hitting some tricky ice on some of the open ledges. The ice was still thin for micros to take well. From just past the high point we headed for Jeffers, doing our best to follow the ridge. The woods were very open. There was a consistent 2-4" of snow on the ground and a good amount in the trees too. Heading from Jeffers to the Hog, there was some thicker going, but nothing too hard. We hit lots of interesting openings and spines while following the ridge. We walked along the Hog's Back, eventually cutting west for a side trip to Sugarloaf. There are lots of interesting view points and we found the old trail. We followed our tracks back about 1/3 of a mile east and made the final push for Black The bushwhack to Black was steep and had some of the toughest woods of the day Great sunset view from Black.

This is a fascinating ridge with lots of cool features. The Hogsback is a new favorite of mine. Thanks to to Emma and Kyle (ColdRiverCampCooks) for joining on this long bushwhack.
