lots of blowdowns throughout the course of the day, many will require a chain saw. Worst blowdowns were on the Royce Trail |

Very little water across the ridge so bring plenty of extra water if you have a dog |

Brutal. Mosquitos down low and black flies higher up. I really couldn't stop all day or I'd be eaten alive. |

Most of the trails were dry but there were a few wet and muddy spots.
Great day. It was only my 2nd time climbing the Baldfaces. It's such a beautiful above treeline area and very remote. I saw no one all day. |
