| Dog-Related Notes: |
Nothing is easy at this time of year but conditions were really good for canines. Cinnilla has never really liked the talus field on the Airline tr. from the Gulfside Jct. towards Mt. Adams summit (this section does have some awkward boulders - for dogs at least) - and today was no exception. After a few attempts we backtracked, proceeded to Thunderstorm jct. and went up the final section of Lowe's Path. No issues there. Everything else she navigated without problems. |

| Comments: |
The spikes stayed in the pack all day.
There is no snow and only insignificant ice below 4,000 ft.
Light traction may be preferred on some sections - the most significant being the last 1/4 mile of Valley Way to the hut. But for the most part those sections are really short and don't really merit putting on the spikes.
We descended via Airline. It has a 1/2 mile or so icy section just below treeline but barebooting is perfectly feasible - and much easier here than on the equivalent section on Valley Way. |
