What a difference a few days makes, from hiking in the rain on Wednesday, to hiking in the snow today. About an inch down low, increasing to 3+ nearing Nancy Pond. Started our whack just beyond the wilderness boundary, and headed up. Pencil woods at the start transitioned into woods of varying thickness... mostly on the high end of the scale, all the way to the canister. Slow going both ways. Fantastic views from a couple of near summit sub-alpine areas! Signed into the canister, nice to see a few familiar names. Down to Nancy Cascade by dark, then rolled out under headlamp... well not me. Awesome day with Andrew and the Marshmallow Man. |
