The trail was broken out by barebooters and there was not too much snow, so I left the shoes in the car. The last hikers turned around about .75mi short of the top, and I ended up breaking trail from there. Leaving the snowshoes ended up being a mistake as the drifts got well above knee depth. Others were coming up with shoes, and I apologized for not bringing mine. Trail should pack out well. Great views to the Whites and Lake winni from Roberts.
I have now hiked all peaks on 52 with a view. (I had not been working on this list, but I did the nh200 highest and am redlinning. Interestingly, I think Roberts is the only 52wav peak that does not overlap with those lists). |
