Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Downes Brook trailhead is plowed out. Logging road at gate is not plowed. Currently, a high clearance AWD vehicle can pull in and park. Two wheel drive cars cannot. Choices include parking on the shoulder or parking at Downes Brook trailhead and walking the half mile west on the Kanc to the logging road.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Snow - Unpacked Powder
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment: Snowshoes
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Downes Brook crossing was a little dicey as water is somewhat high and finding hoppable rocks was not easy. Crossing is doable but recommend alternate route via logging road to avoid it (as described in WMG).

Comments
Comments: Trail was broken out. About eight inches of snow, start to finish. No wind, blue sky, no clouds. It doesn't get any better!
