| Water Crossing Notes: |
Several, as is a wet trail down low and much has yet to freeze. Nothing very difficult, however and one can leave snowshoes on. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
We used the saw to clear 2 significant blowdowns, the largest only about 1/4 mile from summit. Cut out a few trip hazards as well as the recent heavy wet snow had bent or brought down a LOT of stuff. Still more to clear, but easy to get around. top 1/3 could use a brush back someday. |

| Dog-Related Notes: |
Kara and Leah had a lot of fun. Not difficult if they can handle the deeper snows. |

Great day out with Jim and Leah. Someone had hiked the first 2/3. They eventually put on snowshoes. We broke it out from there to the summit. Please folks, let me appeal to you that when the conditions are snow wear snowshoes. It really makes a difference for the next hikers, and if you go out and back you'll enjoy the benefits on the way back for yourself. Even if you can hike with bare boots or micro spikes, it doesn't mean that you should. Spikes are really for ice, not so much for snow. |
