Comments
Comments: The hut/ridge and a quick alpine zone fix was always the plan today due to time constraints. May have been a blessing though I am usually a summit girl. Very cold and windy at treeline, with dropping temps.

Valley Way is a mess, especially down low. Narrow track with many frozen postholes and small blowdowns. Microspikes worked well but it is not the fast winter track we often get. Trail conditions better up high with some new snow and a smoother track.
