| Comments: |
Started out on the Carter Ledge Trail with a mix of bare ground and snow patches and ice. Higher up there is more snow, ice and wind and the Carter Ledge Trail gets steeper and is not for the faint of heart especially if descending. No problem with crampons and an ice ax. There were icy sections on top of the sisters but no problem if you watch out for it. Piper Trail was in good shape to descend, however it might be time for someone to take an ax to the the many blow downs on this trail. Went across on the Nickerson Ledge Trail and back to the Carter Ledge Trail and the White Ledge Camp Ground parking area. |
