Comments
Comments: We were seven: Garret B., Deidra M., Ron K., Larry Y., Bob J, Brian er I mean Bruce (no last name) and me. We found a firm track up Stoney Brook to the ridge where the trench disappeared into a drift then seemed to reappear off to our left. We did not see the signs but we assumed they were buried in the drifts. What we thought was the snowed in trench turned out to be moose postholes. So we wallowed our way through deep snow and spruce traps up to the trail. From there to the summit we found roughly two feet of unbroken powder and many manly drifts. Trail finding was difficult; we did lose the trail again, briefly, further up with no loss. Now, pay attention! To avoid our error when ascending when you get to the ridge and come to a place with two trenches the one you want is to the East (right going up). This will bring you to the trail intersection where the signs are visible.
We encountered an ascending bare-booter on the descent. (Me : "You really need snowshoes up here." Him: "I know". "Well, where are they?". "In the car")
Thanks All, for a Fun day and a good workout.
