Comments
Comments: Valley Way was well packed and solid until near treeline where it was choppy from barebootery. We switched to spikes just above Madison Hut and didn't switch back until between Ike and Peirce. Beautiful hard styrofoam snow and a fair amount of rock but with the gaps filled in. Some of the folks we came across stayed in snowshoes above treeline which seemed fine. We made great time thanks to really good trail above and better than expected weather. Spectacular.
