Comments
Comments: XC-skied following trails which were all in good shape and very well tracked out, i.e. Mooseway Trail; Little Cherry Pond Loop Trail; Shore Path; Rampart Path/Ice Ramparts Trail; Colonel Whipple Trail.

Signage directs you to all the trails EXCEPT for the Mooseway Trail. Best way to access it is to park in large lot (plowed) at Mud Pond trailhead (south side Rt. 116 in Jefferson). Trek 0.2 mile to a "Y" junction. The right fork goes to Mud Pond; left fork is the unsigned Mooseway Trail which heads southward for 1.4 miles and ends at a "T" junction. Go right to access Little Cherry Pond; go left to access Cherry Pond (as well as the Shore Path; Rampart Path/Ice Ramparts Trail; and Colonel Whipple Trail.

Whether XC-skiing or snowshoeing, winter is definitely the best time to check out the Colonel Whipple Trail and Mooseway Trail. During warm weather months those two corridors can be very boggy and weedy.

There's a nice map showing all the trails at Pondicherry (including the unsigned Mooseway Trail). It costs $2.95.
