Decided to go or it after the winter I have been having and it was a success. All trails broken out pretty well except for that section of the Garfield Ridge Trail from North Lafayette to Garfield. What a field day! Nothing but spruce traps. Lots of expletives used along this section. Hiker swallowing spruce traps! I really lost my sense of humor for a short time here. Thank you to Dan M. for breaking this out previously. It didn't look very easy at all. We were happy to pass Alex N and his group of three on the other side of Garfield, we had packed the trails for each other. Twinway was said to not be broken out but some gods or godesses had been through before our group went across and broke it out for us.Saw one other guy as he descended South Twin on our ascent. Thank you Alton, Cory and Mike for an amazing experience and lots of positive attitudes. Winter Pemi Loop, check. |
