Comments
Comments: Had to race the sun as we did not start until 1400. Thankfully, this is a short hike. The weather was completely wrong and we started out in minimal layers and were able to hang out for a bit at the blowdown/clearing on Mt. Waumbek comfortable for awhile. The wind was nothing more than a slight breeze that was not even apparent until we made it to the summit of Mt. Waumbek.

The trail is really beat up for the first mile or two from barebooters. It is littered with postholes. Once the trail gets more in the shade it becomes loose powder on a packed base and snowshoes are highly recommended. Past Mt. Starr King the trail was even less consolidated.

Fantastic views to close out the 2014-2015 winter season!
