| Comments: |
Nineteen Mile was smooth sidewalk in morning. Carter Dome Tr. started out hard packed but became less so the higher up you went. I used microspikes until the brook crossing before hitting the switchbacks. Snowshoes from there until Rt. 16. Side hill section on Carter Dome Tr. (after Zeta Pass) required care to keep on trail. On way down Carter Dome trails started softening causing continuous balling on the snowshoes. Lots of postholes but the shoes kept me level above them. Bonus views all day on account of the deep snow pack. Lots of sun, hardly any wind, very nice day. |
