Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: most water crossings are still bridged but there is flowing water underneath. brook is starting to open up decent.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: There are a few blow downs that cause one to crawl under along carter dome and along ridgeline of mt hight and carter dome. Some signs almost covered with snow still on the ridge. Trail blazes are light and not very often but nicely packed trail was easy to follow.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: My friend brought his dog roxie on the trip, had to put her jacket on once we got to MT. hight but other than that she did great. She even kept up with me buttsliding going down carter-moriah trail near carter hut. She post holed a few times on the ridge but overall seemed content.

Comments
Comments: What a day to finish up my spring break from school. Late start of 10:45 we came to the wet/sticky trail and stared barebooting soon to find spikes appropriate. One we hit carter dome trail about halfway up we started sinking in and passed a group of ladies leaving postholes along the way. At this point I told my friends to throw the shoes on. We made it to zeta pass around 1ish and my friends were not ready/did not know about the steepness of mt hight; neither did I. Snowshoes were really helpful; once we got to Hight we had incredible views of the Presidentials. Going along the ridge to Carter dome was much easier climb than to mt. hight.
Only bothersome part was trail branches in the eyes/face because snow pack is still very high at least 4-5 feet. We didn't stay long on carter dome and started coming down very quickly. I had read the topo map on the trail near the hut but did not realize how steep it is!! I would not suggest this trail for beginners as it is extremely steep and slippery right now.
Coming down nineteen mile brook was a breeze. We were out by 7:45pm, not too bad. Stellar day.
