Comments: Carter Hut to Carter Dome and Mt. Hight

The original Carter-Wildcat traverse with hut stay coming from Imp was nixed due to arrival time, so we opted to can the Wildcats and go up 19 Mile to Carter and decide out plan from there for the Carters. We had spotted a car at the end of the Imp Trail in case we were able to get to South and Middle Carter. With the snow/monorail starting 30 minutes from trailhead, we quickly needed traction to stay on the monorail lest we slip into posthole heck, which one of our group of 11 did "about 200 times" anyways. The trail was too narrow for snowshoes, and they were not necessary. At the hut the teens chose to frolic in the boulder field rather than summit Wildcat.Since a few members did not have snowshoes (although reminded) we could not complete the Carter ridge and opted for the shorter loop over Carter Dome and Mt. Hight. We also left very early to hit the trail as the snow was frozen rather than slushy to keep traction going up the steep trail to Carter Dome. The trail down from the Summit of Hight had to be butt slid! (fun, but not for everyone!)The post holes were easily 2.5'+ deep.
