Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: The Nash Stream road is a good gravel road. There is no designated parking; but one maybe two cars can pull to the left of the driveway/trail. Otherwise one has to park along the raod
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable
Recommended Equipment

Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: No significant crossings.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: There is no sign on Nash Stream Rd, but there is a Cohos Trail "button" and it's typical wooden yellow "blaze". Where the Cohos trail goes left stay to the right and soon there is a group of trail signs. But since one is just hiking up the old fire wardens road from this point on its just stay on the old road. There are lots of waterbars which are still working mostly; but they are getting filled and could use a cleaning more than a couple of boot kicks from a hiker.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: As with Percy Peaks, there are some drainages/small brooks in the lower sections that make good sip n dips, but up high there is only the small drainage at the old fire wardens building to drink from. So I'd bring water on a warm day. The trail is paw friendly and easy walking.
Bugs
Bugs: The black flies were biting especially if one stopped. I got many but two got me. The summit had wind to keep them away.

Comments
Comments: This old road is in pretty good condition for hiking; unlike many it has a lot of waterbars in the steeper sections and very little seepage into the trail. Down lower just above where the snowmobile trail leaves it, there is a stretch of soft/wet/muddy old road and even some water running down it until a real road waterbar diverts it. The summit is open with great views. The Nash Stream is a wonderfully remote and beautiful areas, but the vistas extend far beyond it in all directions. Thanks Pepper for a great day on the Nash Stream trails. We are truly blessed that this area is protected.
