| Bugs: |
Pretty horrendous near Gilson Pond, and until the bottom of Spellman. Better up to the ridge, and a nice breeze kept them away on the summit and all the way down to treeline on White Dot. The hordes returned to feast on me as I hurried back to the car. |

| Comments: |
A great day (minus the bugs) on Monadnock. I did my homework and took some less used trails to get there, and I was rewarded by only seeing two guys (on upper Pumpelly) between my car and the summit. Everything universally dry, the scrambles on Spellman were fantastic, and descending White Dot was fun but I wouldn't want to do it while wet! The summit was a bit crowded, but it was nice to hang out for a bit in the sun and the breeze. If only it weren't so far away from me, I would have done it before now! |
