Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable

Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Water crossing at Carrigain Brook, could get by if boots waterproof/had hiking poles.  
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trail in great shape coming down Signal Ridge. Carrigain Notch Trail pretty good, nothing major. A few blowdowns on Desolution, particularly above 3,500' Most easily hiked around--2 or 3 a bit more challenge to get around. 
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Riley enjoyed the hike. The rock stairs coming up Desolution might be tough for an older or larger dog. Riley, a 42-lb springer, needed a boost a couple of time

Bugs: Non existent until down around 2,500'... a.m. was quite cool
