Cherry Mountain Trail (from Cherry Mtn Rd trailhead)
Hiked the segment of Cherry Mountain Trail that originates from Cherry Mountain Road which is sometimes referred to as the "Jeep Trail". However, it's official name is the Cherry Mountain Trail which is the same name as the trail that originates from a trailhead on Rt. 115. Seems like it would be less confusing if these trails should had different names, i.e. something like Cherry Mountain Trail WEST and Cherry Mountain Trail EAST. Regardless, the "Jeep Trail", is a snowmobile trail in winter. It provides a less steep approach than the trail from Rt. 115, but it's much longer (1.7 miles vs. 3.6 miles).
This is one of my adopted trails, and maintenance was done on 03-June. The corridor is overall in good shape. It has some wet/soggy areas which are easily negotiated with careful foot placement. The trail tends to become drier in late summer and into autumn.
