| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
The parking lot was overflowing at 10:30 when I drove by. At 1 pm there were several spots open. |
| Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable |
| Recommended Equipment: |
| Water Crossing Notes: |
The crossing of the Zealand River on the Trestle Tr was running low, however, I still needed to search for a spot to cross just downstream from the washed out bridge. This crossing would probably be impassable with moderate flow. |
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Trails were in great shape. |
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Easy hike for Marlie. Not much water heading up the Sugarloaves so plan ahead. The ladder leading up to Middle Sugarloaf resembles the wooden staircase on the Osseo Tr. |

| Bugs: |
Barely noticeable today. |

Wow! The view from Middle Sugarloaf is amazing. I cant believe this was my first time up there. All of the Presidential Range can be seen except for Mt Madison. Marlie and I had the summit almost completely to ourselves. One other group was down over the ledges to the east. After checking out North Sugarloaf we looped around on the Trestle Tr which was a nice, lighter used trail along the river. This was an excellent second hike for the day.
