Parked at old railroad bridge off RT 16 and took Detour to trailhead. |

All easy. Plenty of water for K9's. |

Detour is hard to follow at times. Signs are extremely small. |

Black Flies and ticks. We had 3 ticks each. Don't worry those 6 will not be a bother anymore. :) |

This was a great day for a hike. If you go in the way we did, watch for the little detour signs, we missed one and added an extra 3 miles to our hike. Mahoosuc trail for the most part was in good shape on the lower end. Before the ledges though it was a muddy mess, we bushwhacked around it coming back down. Hike out to mine was a herdpath and bushwhack. We found 3 entrances to the mine, all gated. We would love to get on the bat counting committee and get in to that mine. Lots of history out there.
