Parked at Sandwich Mt/Drakes Brook trailhead, rode my bike to Smarts Brook trailhead to begin hike there (4.8 mile bike spot). |

No difficult water crossings on this hike. |

 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Trails generally in great condition. Two major blowdowns on Drakes Brook Trail. Chatted with a volunteer who was working on the Bennett Street Trail. |

We saw three great dogs: "Briar" at Flat Mountain Pond, "Jack" at the summit of Sandwich Mt, and another whose name we didn't get between Sandwich Mt and Jennings Peak. |

Bugs were tough on Sunday, not as bad on Monday. |

Hiked up Smarts Brook Trail and Sandwich Mt Trail to the summit of Sandwich, then down Bennett Street Trail and Flat Mountain Pond Trail to the shelter at the pond. Camped there for the night, then climbed back over Sandwich Mt, down the Sandwich Mt Trail and Drakes Brook Trail. Nice hike, but the views weren't great due to the hazy conditions. A good workout though. |
