Parking/Access Road Notes: Parking lot was still nearly full around 4 PM, with some cars still parked on Route 11.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: A few minor ones on the Beaver Pond Trail.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Mt. Major Trail continues to deteriorate.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Very busy trail this time of the year, so probably a good idea to leash your dog (probably more for you/your dog's sake than anything else). I still don't understand why people bag up their dogs' deposits, then leave the bags on the side of the trail (seeing more and more of these bags).
Bugs
Bugs: Minimal on Mt. Major Trail, but some annoying deer flies and occasional mosquitoes on the Beaver Pond Trail.
Lost and Found

Comments
Comments: Mt. Major Trail was mostly dry. Beaver Pond Trail was generally dry, but had a few muddy areas. Short segments of Brook and Boulder Loop trails were dry.
Not much in way of blueberries along the Mt. Major Trail, however a very tasty crop along the upper Beaver Pond Trail. The balance of that trail isn't terribly appealing, with no views, sometimes vexing bugs, loose rock on the downhills, and generally snowmobile trail/logging road on the flats. That said, even on a busy day on the main trails, it's quiet.
