Ted's Trail, Cliff Trail, Carolyn's Trail Connector (Closed), Carolyn's Trail
With storms forecast up north, I stayed closer to home and hiked these trails, which are new to me. What a wonderful route to North Pack! A much more attractive route than out and back via Wapack. TT follows a stream most of the way up, passing two rugged waterfalls. No water today, but I need to come back when it's going, I bet it's lovely. Nice ledgy terrain near the top with several open outlooks. CT was very mellow, just a really pleasant trail. The CTC is closed, but still navigable. I went out and back to check it out. Still some cairns and a couple of blazes. Most blazes have been removed. Had sun most of the day, but thunder and rain on the descent. This whole loop is very quiet and lightly traveled, a great way to climb this peak! |
