| Comments: |
The trail to Mt Waumbek is an easy hike for a four thousand foot peak. Beyond Mt Waumbek the Kilkenny Ridge Trail has the feel of the back country. Saw no other hikers on the Kilkenny Ridge Trail. Ferns line the Kilkenny Ridge Trail and at times obscure the pathway. Walking through these fern areas wets the boots and legs when nobody else has passed through.
The best views are from a blow down clearing a short distance down the Kilkenny Ridge Trail from the Mt Waumbek summit cairn. |
