Pullout for a few vehicles on Cherry Mountain Road (which is in good shape), and a dirt lot for 8-10 on 115. |

Finally got up Cherry Mountain via its namesake trail. The southern (eastern) leg of the trail coincides with a snowmobile trail all the way to the top, so the way was clear the whole way. Some sections look like they're damp and soft in wetter weather, but that's not what we've been having. In the clouds when we reached Mt. Martha, but things had cleared out enough for views on Owl's Head and when we returned over Martha. Down to 115 the trail was more trail-like, as snowmobiling is prohibited on this section, and passed by a regenerating clear-cut, which sported decent views west. A nice cool morning hike with Mike. |
