Comments
Comments: This hike has a lot of bang for the buck. It's a pretty steep ascent to the col, then a very nice hike up to South Doublehead. The view there is one of the best I've seen. Interesting big rocks going up to North; steeper than going up South but not difficult. North Doublehead has two viewpoints, one at the cabin looking west and one on a side path looking east. The ski trail was a nice way to descend.

I saw more wildlife than I usually do up here: one grouse (ruffed?) walking on the ground and another one flying off, lots of chickadees, a raven, jays, a toad, red squirrels, and chipmunks. Spruce cones are falling.
