Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: A few small brooks were dry.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: The first 2.2 miles of the SB Trail are quick woods roads used by snowmobiles. The upper 1.8 miles below the junction with the Eastman Mtn. and Baldface Knob Trails have seen little use since Irene closed the trailhead 4 years ago and parts are overgrown, obscured by blowdowns and hard to follow. If you can see Slippery Brook, you've slipped too far west, which stays on a ridge to its east. A few blazes would be useful, but there are none.

Bugs: None of course.

Comments
Comments: It's great to be able to drive to the Slippery Brook and Mountain Pond Trailheads for the first time in four years. The Slippery Brook Tr. 1.8 mile section below the Baldface/Eastman junction needs work, traffic or both.
