Latte Man and I made our first ever day trip from Rhode Island to the White Mountains to hike. It was a 12 1/2 hour trip, with more time spent on the road than on the trail. It was a long day but it was absolutely worth it and it opened up new options for future hikes. Meanwhile my coworkers were home doing "rainy day projects" like cleaning their closets. I'm sure they'll be bragging about their accomplishments on Monday; I will nod in approval and suppress both the post-hike smile and the eye roll. It was raining when we left RI and cloudy when we returned but up north we had blue skies, sunshine, and fantastic views. |
