Comments: A much awaited trip... finally done! Excellent day in the woods with Tim Lucia (72/72!), Barb Audin and long time BW pal, Lew Dow. We hiked in via trails, to a point a few tenths north of Redrock Brook, then essentially followed the spine of the ridge up to the summit.

Woods on the bottom third were open but steep. Loose rock at times. We hit a cliff band about 3100' that was dicey for a bit as we negotiated a climb up a steep seam of sorts. Woods were sometimes easy,... sometimes we had to "swim" through 10' spruce saplings. Around 3900' we hit the dreaded, seemingly impenetrable spruce band... a mossy tangled mess... but it was short lived. The summit hadn't been visited in over a year. We found a jar downhill of the summit and rehung it.

On the way down I found open woods on the west, but that took us in the wrong direction and I had to get us back on our southerly course.

Above the cliff band there was a skid road that we followed down, an elegant solution to negotiating the cliffs. We were lucky to find several skid roads going our way.. and the descent, while steep at times, went pretty well.

Just under 20 miles; 11:45 including breaks.
