Comments
Comments: What I thought would be a nice day turned out to be very harsh. The overnight light snow covered everything and many boots soon made it packed down and slippery. At L. Haystack summit, many had doubts as it was foggy and very windy. But we decided to give it a try and it was doable. The wind was curiously SW so not in our faces. Lots of young folks were wearing sneakers as most were surprised by the conditions. I only used my Microspikes on the beginning of the Bridle Path descent. Hardly anybody even had them. The hut was still open and we were very glad of it as nobody was stopping once we started on the ridge. Fortunately I was well prepared, brought my light winter gear and it was sufficient. You never know what the conditions will be.
