Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Just one over Poorfarm Brook, crossed on a nice footbridge.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: All official trails in great shape, thank you BRATTS! Heavy leaf cover is obscuring rocks and roots, making for cautious footing. The unofficial trail up to Suncook is very obscure and takes care to follow. A small cairn marks its junction with the PRPL, which is easy to miss, I initially walked right by it. Occasional flagging marks the way up the trail, but you need to hunt for it in spots. Logging along the GFT is pretty unattractive. :(
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Fine for dogs, but not much water aside from Round Pond.
Bugs
Bugs: Yes! The warm weather must have woken them up.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: One beer bottle on a branch along OPT, and a partially inflated mylar balloon (!!) on the summit of Suncook. I assume that was its resting place after departing a birthday party. I carried both out.

Comments
Comments: A good day for some more redlining, as well as visiting a couple of obscure peaks in the range. Suncook is a mess of blowdowns at the summit. It apparently doesn't rate an official trail but does rate a sign! I left the RPT just north of its junction with the PRPL, and bushwhacked up to the summit of Heator through open woods, perhaps a few hundred yards. No sign there, but there is a cairn. One steep scramble to reach the high point. Stopped at Round Pond and had lunch, my first time there. Lovely! A quiet day, only saw one other person (with no gear whatsoever) but I heard people over on Piper. Trees are getting more bare and the color is gone.
