| Comments: |
Trails were mostly dry and in good shape.
Old Stage Road starts just past the pond off Jesus Valley Road, but maybe 100 yards later, there's a sign for Straightback Mountain. From there, it's a leafy snowmobile trail until you pick up the red blazes for the Beaver Pond Trail. Soon thereafter, there's a sign where the Straightback Mountain Trail breaks off to the left. Not long after this, it becomes one of the more scenic trails around, as it ascends through blueberry pasture and ledges (occasional black ice, easily avoided) to the summit.
Chilly but decent sunset. |
