Comments
Comments: No snow for a mile or so, then gradually increasing to 2-3 inches from the Cascade on up. In the sun it was melting and turning to slush, which was the case on the steep section of the summit path. Did not need traction going up, but used micros coming down to the ponds. Snow was so sticky by then, it was loading up the spikes every few steps. The steep section will probably be clear in a couple days. There is an open slide next to the path part way up with an interesting view toward Carrigain. The ledge at the top has a fine view East. No wind, no people, clear skies. Whats not to like?
