A great day with temps from 25 to 40 and clear blue sky. Great views in every direction from the tower on Carrigain. The trail had packed snow and ice on the upper 3 miles so light traction was used. As Mark mentioned in his post today, we met on the Bondcliff Trail just north of Mt. Bond on Saturday and talked for a few minutes. Today we met again just below the summit of Carrigain as I was descending. We had not mentioned that we each had Monday off from work and would be hiking. What are the odds? Besides Mark there was 1 other hiker. I also hiked on the Carrigain Notch Trail to the Pemi Wilderness Boundary before I headed back to my truck. |
