Comments: Mt. Willard. Hiked on 12 7 15

Avalon trail starts behind the train depot, adjacent to the highland center on rt 302 in Crawford notch. This is a great quick hike, with excellent views. one hour up, and .40 minutes down. Good hike to fill in the day, or possibly bring a newbie hiker on to enjoy some fantastic scenery without too much exertion. Once someone does this one, they will be hooked yearning for more.
Take the Avalon trail for 100 yards, then take the left heading up to Willard.
1.6 miles one way. Packed snow that was glazed over all the way up. Micro spikes or some sort of light traction highly recommended. Only seen 5 other people today. Bring a lunch and enjoy. Today we came in from Jefferson through the Jefferson notch road which is still open, but snow covered and a little slick on the corners.
