Comments
Comments: Microspikes needed 3 miles in to ascent. Trail with thick ice, both solid and breakable with slush and snow at points. Beautiful views on open rock face area once exposed above tree line where you can visualize the fire tower on summit ahead. Clouds moving across the ridge made the views spectacular. Slushy for last mile to summit. Stood above clouds on fire tower. Easy hike down WITH micro spikes until trail lost its ice and became flat again. Very enjoyable day. Total hike time was 6.5 hours with breaks. Started around 9am and ended by 3:30pm. Saw 2 other hikers. One of best views in all of the whites! Peak number 26 for me. Fed some gray jays from our hands on trail with cheez-itz! Happy Trails.
