| Water Crossing Notes: |
All crossings running high today. Whiteface River was crossed about 0.2 above the actual crossing, in knee deep, fast moving water. No ice on rocks, so for now, crossings are doable, but you will very likely get wet doing this route. |

| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
A couple of blowdowns on the route, but none impeded travel. |

An excellent day out exploring the Flat Mountain Pond Trail with Jake, going from the east trailhead to the west, and roadwalking back. Rain the night before made for soggy trail conditions throughout, but the sun came out at times, temps were decent, and the going was generally easy. Good thing it wasn't 10 degrees colder, as it wouldn't have mixed with our trail runners and our mucking around in the water all day! No ice on the trails (only a skim of ice on the pond), and not a bit of snow to be seen. Are we sure this is December? |
